MotherL*ver: Solo show about the lighter side of tragedy (Seattle, WA)

Friday November 1, 2024 from 7:30 PM to 8:30 PM

Derek Sheen brings a collection of insanely dark and hilarious stories wrapped around the concept of finding hope through laughter.

About this event

Derek Sheen has always been known for his dark approach to comedy, but MotherL*ver finds Sheen exploring new territory, grief and hope.

It's a show about Sheen’s mother, Barbara Ellen. Their incredibly complicated relationship and how she taught him to reconcile his fear through humor...by basically exposing him to a tremendous amount of trauma. The show is a collection of insanely dark and hilarious stories wrapped around the concept of finding hope, in even the most hopeless of situations, through laughter.

“I often think about what I would change if given the opportunity to go back in time and it's never 'steal the sport's almanac' or 'stop Hitler'. It's always, 'convince Barbara to see a therapist when she's in her 30s' and 'make my stepfather's death look like an accident”

This show is best for audiences ages 18+
