Five Year Anniversary: “Stranger Scenes”, Three for All, & Improv 101

This month marks the five year anniversary of the Alchemy Comedy Theater and we’re celebrating with some amazing shows. Every Saturday at 9pm for the month of September our all-star sketch comedy cast has put together a best-of show featuring some of our strangest, funniest scenes.

Every Thursday at 7:30 and 9pm our stage becomes a full on comedy battle royale! Trios of Alchemy players compete for laughs and your votes. Winner also moves on to semi-finals at the end of the month to find out who will have the “Rule of 3”!

 

 


improv101We not only produce high quality comedy shows, Alchemy is also committed to teaching the art of improv comedy throughout the Greenville area. Whether you are interested in performing and joining our company, or simply working on communication and collaboration in the real world, these comedy classes are for you.

Each class runs once a week, for six weeks, from 6:30-9:00pm. As a added bonus, all students get FREE admission to all Thursday, Friday, and Saturday Alchemy Comedy shows while they are enrolled in a class. Our next Improv 101 starts Wednesday, September 28th!

Improv Intensive Classes

Every summer we run special intensive improv classes to make it easy to get tons of comedy fun in even less time! We offer a a day-long Improv 101 intensive on Saturday, June 6th AND the following 5-day Improv 201 intensive from June 8-12th. Take just one for our usual class price OR sign up for the 101 class and then use the promo code “both” to get 50% of Improv 201! We also offer a week of Kids and Youth Improv summer camps from July 20-24th. The only thing more fun than watching improv is doing improv!

500th Show Celebration

Starting from our original weekly shows in the fall of 2011, we now have improv, stand-up, and sketch comedy shows every Friday & Saturday at 7:30 and 9pm. This Friday at 9pm will be our 500th show in downtown Greenville, SC. Buy your ticket now for our flagship event Local Legends with guest storytellers musical duo Valentine Wolfe!

Greenville Comedy Marathon

In just 2 weeks you can see 12 straight hours of comedy by performers from throughout the Upstate. Saturday, June 13th will be our annual Greenville Comedy Marathon. From Noon to Midnight you can see everything from improv with SCCT’s youth team, stand-up from the best of No Expectations Comedy, some of our favorite scripted comedy sketches, improv comedy from GLT’s improv team, and everything in between! $12 gets you an all-day pass!

Carolina’s Funniest Comic Stand-up Competition

Carolina’s Funniest Comic 2015  has 80 comedians from North and South Carolina that will compete for over $1500 in cash and prizes and the first ever CFC Comedy Tour. Audience vote decides the winner! The SC preliminary shows will be Fridays and Saturdays in January, at the Alchemy Comedy Theater in Greenville, SC. The winner will be crowned South Carolina’s Funniest Comic. The top 2 SC finalists will compete along with the NC finalists in Chapel Hill, NC!

 


SCFC Finals: Friday, Feb 6th 9PM (BUY TICKETS)

[FINALS PRIZE BREAKDOWN: Top prize: $1000, Carolina’s Funniest Comic Title and FREE entry into the 2016 NC Comedy Arts Festival and New South Comedy Festival, Second: $300, Third: $150, Fourth: $50; Alchemy and DSI Comedy Theater will sponsor the Top 4 Comics on a regional tour of at least 4 clubs in 2015 (support will include: headshots, marketing materials, professionally produced clips, and stipends to subsidize travel & lodging).]
