Summer Improv 101-201 Intensive

Want to take our improv classes, but can’t commit to continuous week nights over summer? Then our 4 1/2 day Summer Improv 101-201 intensive is for you! It will run from Monday, July 9th-Friday, July 13th from 10am-4pm (with a half day on Friday). You will go through our 12 weeks of our curriculum in just 1 week and for half the price and there is no comedy or theater experience necessary! Here’s the information about the instructor:

The school manger Harrison Brookie is a trained educator who has spent several years teaching public high school. He was also a resident instructor under Zach Ward at the DSI Comedy Theater in NC, which has heavily inspired our style and curriculum.

Improv 101 will teach you the basic framework for doing comedic scenes. The focus will be on the fundamentals of agreement, relationship, character, and environment. Improv 201 is an introduction to the patterns that make up a scene. This class will focus on the fundamentals of scene pattern recognition, creation, and heightening. May 31st Improv 101 Class: Introduction to Scenework

After filling up last few Improv 101 classes, we are excited to be offering another! The class will run Thursdays, starting May 31st-July 5th, 2012. Whether you are interested in performing and joining our company, or simply working on communication and collaboration in the real world, these comedy classes are for you. Here’s the information about the training center and the class instructor:

The instructor for this class, Ben Burris, started doing improv in the fall of 2007, and has done workshops with performers from New York, Austin, San Francisco and all over the southeast. He taught improv as the vice president and later the president of Clemson Improv for a total of 2 years. Ben’s excited about meeting new students and teaching improv in the Greenville area.

Each class runs once a week, for six weeks from 6:30-9:00pm. There is no comedy or theater experience necessary and all students get free admission to Alchemy Comedy shows while they are enrolled in a class.

April 16th Improv 101: Introduction to Scenework

After selling out our last Improv 101 in March, we’ve opened up another session. So far our students have been a varying mix of entrepreneurs and engineers, those who want to perform and those who just want to work on public speaking and collaboration skills. Here’s the basic description from our classes page:
