One of Alchemy’s goals is to connect the Greenville improv community with the larger world of improvisational comedy. Originally created by one of the founders of modern improv in Chicago, the Harold dates back to the 1960s and has maintained status as one of the oldest and most popular improv formats. Harold Night is a monthly showcase of Alchemy’s Harold team. Rounding out the 8 o’clock show hour is Alchemy’s theatrical member of the “Scared” series in which improvisers must play opposite a real actor reading half of a real script. Watch a show that’s half-scripted and all fun, Scared Scriptless.
9:30PM – Local Legends with stories from Debra Capps ($8)
Friday’s second show features the all-star cast of Local Legends doing improv based on the stories of local model and actress, Debra Capps. Debra is actually a return guest from way back in January of 2012, and she’s back to tell more personal stories as well as demonstrate her acting abilities in Scared Scriptless during the 8 o’clock show. If you live in the upstate, you have probably seen Debra perform at either the Centre Stage, Warehouse Theatre, Spartanburg Little Theatre, Greenville Little Theatre, Greer Children’s Theatre, South Carolina Children’s Theater or others.
You can see her this May in A Little Night Music at the Warehouse Theatre, but only this Friday can you see her as herself in Alchemy’s Local Legends!
