Improv 101 Class Starts Tuesday, September 25th

Posted on Updated on

As the summer comes to a close Alchemy Comedy Training Center will be starting up a brand new session of our Improv 101 class! The class will run Tuesday, starting September 25th-October 30th, 2012. Whether you are interested in performing and joining our company, or simply working on communication and collaboration in the real world, these comedy classes are for you. Here’s the information about the training center and the class instructor:

The school manger Harrison Brookie is a trained educator who has spent several years teaching public high school. He was also a resident instructor under Zach Ward at the DSI Comedy Theater in NC, which has heavily inspired our style and curriculum.

The instructor for this class, Ben Burris, started doing improv in the fall of 2007, and has done workshops with performers from New York, Austin, San Francisco and all over the southeast. He taught improv as the vice president and later the president of Clemson Improv for a total of 2 years. Ben’s excited about meeting new students and teaching improv in the Greenville area.

Each class runs once a week, for six weeks from 6:30-9:00pm. There is no comedy or theater experience necessary and all students get free admission to Alchemy shows while they are enrolled in a class.

This introductory class will teach you the basic framework for doing comedic scenes. The focus will be on the fundamentals of agreement, relationship, character, and environment. You can register for the class online. If you have any questions call (864) 256-1467 or fill out this form and we’ll contact you!
