Dec 2: Southern Author Carl T. Smith

Posted on Updated on

We are back from Thanksgiving Break full of turkey and ready for comedy. Our special guest storyteller this Friday is author Carl T. Smith. After spending years in professional music, theatre, education and creating an entertainment managment firm in Philidelphia, friend and author Tom Robbins convinced Carl to go back to his college love of writing.

In 1995 he moved to South Carolina where he wrote his first novel Nothin’ Left to Lose which was listed as one of the Top 10 Books by SC authors that year. With encouragement from friend and author Pat Conroy, Carl wrote Lowcountry Boil which was nomiated for The Southern Critic’s Circle Award for “Book of the Year”. Smith then followed that success with another book featuring the character Sam Larkin Lousiana Burn and then later Carolina Fire.

Be sure not to miss Carl’s stories about his stories this Friday and his most recent adventures in turning his paper books into ebooks.
