8:00PM – Dual Duel: Competitive Improv Games ($5)

This Friday’s 8pm show is Alchemy Comedy’s players in Dual Duel. Two duos in a head-to-head comedy competition for points and your laughs. There will be a few familiar games like those featured on the show Whose Line Is It Anyway?, as well as some Alchemy favorites.  In this week’s show it’s Brad and Griffin on the Blue Team vs Wendy and Andy on the Red Team. Come out and help decide who walks away a victor, and who simply walks away. You may have seen improv games before, but you probably haven’t seen it like this!

9:30PM – Local Legends with stories from Brian Habig [proceeds going to Homes of Hope] ($8)

At 9:30 stories from a guest inspire scenes from the all-star cast of Local Legends. This week, see scenes based on the stories of Downtown Presbyterian pastor Brian Habig. Brian grew up in Mississippi and went to Covenant Theological Seminary after graduating from Mississippi State. While Brian has been pastor of Downtown Presbyterian the church has partnered with several organizations including Homes of Hope, providing safe, affordable, and energy-efficient housing for low-income and/or homeless families or individuals. This Friday, all proceeds of Local Legends will be donated to Homes of Hope. Come out, laugh, and support a great cause.

Local Legends will feature special guest player Katie Jones, co-founder of Clemson University’s Mock Turtle Soup and Wishbone Theater Collective.

8:00PM –  Improv 101 and 501 Student Showcase ($5)

Our first show this Friday features the graduates of our most recent Improv 101 and Improv 501 classes. They’ve spent weeks learning and preparing for this moment. Come out this week and support them as they take new skills to the stage for the first time. 9:30PM – Local Legends with stories from our 101 and 501 Students ($8)

In Local Legends a guest from a local business, project, or other person of note is invited to come tell their stories as inspiration for a series of improvised scenes. This week, we have brought you an eclectic mix of some of the most eccentric, inspirational, quirky, and odd members of the Upstate, our students. Normally, one guest tells five 2-minute stories to inspire scenes, but this week the name of one student from our 8 o’clock showcase will be randomly drawn at each story break. Come out to be entertained, and for a chance to get to know our students better than we do.

8:00PM – Harold Night and Ward & Brookie ($5)

One of Alchemy’s goals is to connect the Greenville improv community with the larger world of improvisational comedy. Originally created by one of the founders of modern improv in Chicago, the Harold dates back to the 1960s and has maintained status as one of the oldest and most popular improv formats. Opening up for Harold is Tribute: Musically Inspired Improv with Alchemy’s Harrison Brookie and guest performer Zach Ward, Managing Director of ImprovBoston and coordinator of the NC Comedy Arts Festival.

9:30PM – Local Legends with stories from Lindsey Jones ($8)

Friday’s second show features the all-star cast of Local Legends doing improv based on the stories of Lindsey Jones. Lindsey is a writer and editor living in the Upstate. A former instructor of Contemporary American Literature and Fiction Writing at Clemson, Lindsey is currently staying home raising her new baby girl, Lennon.

Special guest improviser Zach Ward will be performing in the 8 and 9:30 shows.

8:00PM – The 4 Humors : Improv from the Founders of Alchemy Comedy ($5)

The four founding members of Alchemy Comedy together form a team called The 4 Humors. Combining and weaving their collective 30 years of comedy experience into a format called the Double Date, the players will form four characters based loosely on interviews with audience members. This Friday also marks the triumphant return of founding member Meg Pierson to the Alchemy stage.

9:30PM – Local Legends with stories from Director of the Upstate Shakespeare Festival John Fagan ($8)

Friday’s second show features the all-star cast of Local Legends doing improv based on the stories of Director John Fagan. For 15 years John has been the director of the Upstate Shakespeare Festival, a summer long event with free, public performances of the comedies and tragedies of William Shakespeare. This year attendees can look forward to performances of Hamlet and the Comedy of Errors on the round wooden stage in Falls Park. John has also directed at several of the other theaters around town, but this Friday witness his first credit at the Alchemy Comedy Theater when he is our Local Legend.

As part of Meg’s return to the U.S. and to Alchemy, she will reclaim her position on the Local Legends team.

8:00PM – G-Vegas : Greenville’s First Ever Live Gameshow ($5)

Alchemy Comedy Theater not only produces live improv, stand up, and sketch comedy, but also this live game show. It’s everything you love about quiz shows, except the contestants are comedians from right here in Greenville, SC. This week Ben Burris, Lena Roper, and Jason Farr will be locked in a battle of the wittiest. It’s the first episode of Greenville’s only live game show and it is not to be missed!

9:30PM – Local Legends with stories from Jason Farr ($8)

Friday’s second show features the all-star cast of Local Legends doing improv based on the stories of returning local comedian and actor Jason Farr.  Jason has appeared in ads for Bi-Lo, Palmetto Bank, and Spinx. He’s also been featured in Denny’s and Michelin corporate training videos. As a stand-up comedian he’s appeared at  The Lab, The Magnetic Field, and Elaine’s Piano Bar at NC’s renowned Grove Park Inn. You can see him most Monday nights in Greenville at the No Expectations Open Mic Night at Coffee Underground.

Lena Roper will also be performing as a special guest in Local Legends.

8:00PM – Dual Duel: March Madness: Final 5 ($5)

This Friday’s 8pm is the Final 5 semi-finals event for Alchemy’s first ever Dual Duel March Madness. These comedy duos have been going head to head all month for your laughs and the chance to be in this show. Instead of Dual Duel’s usual pair of pairings you will see 5 two-person teams in comedy competition. It’s a battle for belly-laughs, a kerfuffle for chuckles, an all-out brawl for LOLs. You may have seen Dual Duel, but now we’re bringing you a Duel of Pentastic proportions.

9:30PM –Dual Duel: March Madness: Final Event($8)

At 9:30 we take a break from the regularly scheduled Local Legends to bring you the unstoppable comedy competition event of the year. The winners from the Final 5 at 8 will take each other on in a Dual Duel event like no other. Winning teams will pick 3 players from the losing semi-finals teams (like so much middle school dodgeball) making 2 mega-teams. These quintets of comedy will then each create half of a short-form improv show and the audience will vote for the winning performance.

8:00PM – Dual Duel: March Madness ($5)

This Friday’s 8pm ends the preliminary rounds of Alchemy’s first ever Dual Duel March Madness! Normally in Dual Duel, it’s two duos in a head-to-head comedy competition for points and your laughs. This month, each victory also decides the winner of a tournament ending with the finals on April 5th. In this week’s show it’s Ron and Mandy on the Red Team vs  Jenn and Andy on the Blue Team. Come out and help decide who walks away a victor, and who simply walks away. You may have seen improv games before, but you probably haven’t seen it like this!

9:30PM – Local Legends with stories from Brock Koonce ($8)

At 9:30 stories from a guest inspire scenes from the all-star cast of Local Legends. This week hear the stories of Brock Koonce, Program Director at Greenville Forward. With his position Brock is one of the faces of Vision 2025, a plan and comprehensive goal for the future of Greenville County to continue making it one of the fastest growing and liveable areas in the country. Brock’s work with Greenville Forward and in the advertising world has won him several young professional honors including selection for one of Greenville’s Best and Brightest Under 35 by Greenville Business Magazine. It’s an exciting time to be in Greenville, specifically this Friday at 9:30pm for Local Legends.
