March 21st/22nd: March Madness Dual Duel, Local Legends with Jacob Johnson, & TEDx FurmanU!

Posted on Updated on

Friday March 21st

Dual Duel7:30PM – Dual Duel March Madness ($8)

This Friday’s early show is part of Alchemy Comedy’s 2nd Annual Dual Duel March Madness! Normally in Dual Duel, it’s two duos in a head-to-head comedy competition for points and your laughs. This month, each victory also helps decide the winner of a tournament ending with the finals on April 5th. In this week’s show it’s Craig and Jason U. on the Red Team vs. Shivani and Wendy on the Blue Team. Come out and choose who walks away a victor, and who simply walks away. You may have seen improv games before, but you probably haven’t seen it like this!

9:00PM – Local Legends with stories and music from Jacob Johnson ($10)JacobJohnson

Friday’s second show features the all-star cast of Local Legends doing improv based on the stories of a local person of note. This week you’ll hear more than just stories, but songs from returning guest Jacob Johnson.  Jacob is a talented musician who despite his dedication to his craft doesn’t take himself too seriously. He’s from the area and can be seen playing folksy tunes around town and around the country. He’s shared the stage with icons of the folk scene like Edwin McCain, Tim Reynolds, and David Wilcox, in venues all-over. You can check out his website or his facebook page to see when he’s performing near you, including at the Albino Skunk Festival and TEDx Greenville next month. One place we all know he’s performing is Local Legends this Friday, so come on out and enjoy the show!

Saturday March 22nd

There are no Alchemy Comedy shows at Coffee Underground this Saturday, but several members of the cast are performing as guests at TEDx FurmanU at the Peace Center’s Gunter Auditorium this Saturday night.
