This week’s 8 o’clock show features Alchemy’s two resident long-form teams, Harold and Them Again. Harold is a format created by one of the founders of modern improv in Chicago, dating back to the 1960s. It’s maintained status as one of the oldest and most popular improv formats performed around the world. Opening up is the final performance of Them Again! in which one core scene inspires the direction and structure of the entire show. This is your last chance to see these two great teams together, it’d be a hard week to miss.
Friday’s second show features the all-star cast of Local Legends doing improv based on the stories of a local celebrity guest. This week, our guest is Co-Founder and Artistic Director of The Distracted Globe, Jayce Tromsness. Jayce is an actor, director, and playwright who has performed in, directed, and written plays all over including The South Carolina Children’s Theatre in Greenville, USC and Trustus in Columbia, and the Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival. He is also a teacher at the SC Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities. Jayce regularly performs and directs improv with the Distracted Globe at the Warehouse Theatre, but this week he’ll be providing true stories to inspire a completely improvised show from the cast of Local Legends.
Special guest improviser and wife of the storyteller Anne Tromsness will be performing in the 9:30 show.
