WORKSHOP with NYC’s People’s Improv Theater’s Micah Sherman

Micah ShermanAlchemy Comedy Theater is committed to teaching the art of improv comedy throughout the Greenville area. That’s why we not only offer regular classes throughout the year, but also sponsor one time workshops. Alchemy is offering a guest workshop with for NYC’s People’s Improv Theater’s Micah Sherman. This is a one time chance to learn from a veteran improviser and instructor. Participants must have some improv or theater experience.

How To Improvise Without Thinking

Thinking about the rules while you’re onstage? Stuck in your head? Thinking about what you’re going to say before you say it? Using a variety of exercises to pull you out of your head and making small adjustments to your natural inclinations onstage, Micah Sherman will get your a mind to a place where it is truly improvising again. This workshop emphasizes stage time rather than sitting and talking about improv theory.

MICAH SHERMAN is an alumnus of the Chapel Hill High School Improv Company as well as the SECOND CITY and iO Theaters in Chicago, Improv Asylum and ImprovBoston and he currently performs regularly at the People’s Improv Theater in New York City. He also performed musical improv with BABY WANTS CANDY at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland. Micah has been in movies and on television (TV!) but really it’s his improv you’re interested in, isn’t it?
