This week’s 8 o’clock show features Alchemy’s two resident long-form teams, Harold and Them Again. Harold is a format created by one of the founders of modern improv in Chicago, dating back to the 1960s. It’s maintained status as one of the oldest and most popular improv formats performed around the world. Rounding out the 8 o’clock show is Them Again, in which one main scene inspires the direction and format of the entire show. Two great house-teams for the price of one makes this the week to see.
Friday’s second show features the all-star cast of Local Legends doing improv based on the stories of local poet Moody Black. Robert Mullins, Jr.(or his stage-name Moody Black) of Unifyed Sol Poets is a spoken-word and visual artist, actor, and photographer from Spartanburg. He’s performed for many audience across the country and also hosts several regular poetry shows around the Upstate including the Wits End poetry open mic every Sunday night at Coffee Underground and a poetry slam once a month. Come out for a show sure to be electrifying as Moody inspires scenes with his stories and his poetry.
