After selling out of last class, Alchemy Comedy Theater’s training center will be starting another IMPROV 101 class. The class will run Tuesdays, April 2nd-May 7th. Whether you are interested in performing and joining our company, or simply working on communication and collaboration in the real world, these comedy classes are for you. Here’s the information about the training center:
The school manager Harrison Brookie is a trained educator who has spent several years teaching public high school. He was also a resident instructor under Zach Ward at the DSI Comedy Theater in NC, which has heavily inspired our style and curriculum. Since then Harrison has served as the Artistic Director of the Alchemy Comedy Theater.
Each class runs once a week, for six weeks from 6:30-9:00pm. There is no comedy or theater experience necessary and all students get free admission to all Alchemy shows while they are enrolled in a class.
This introductory class will teach you the basic framework for doing comedic scenes. The focus will be on the fundamentals of agreement, relationship, character, environment, and fearlessness.
