Kids, Youth, and Adults Summer Comedy Camps

Alchemy Improv Comedy is committed to teaching the art of improv comedy throughout the Greenville area. Whether you or your student are interested in performing or simply working on communication and collaboration skills for the real world, these comedy classes are for you! There is no comedy or theater experience necessary, so classes are not divided by experience, but by age. Here are the 3 summer classes are offer:

Kids Improv 101 (Ages 8-11): Here students will learn the basics of our Improv 101 class specifically tailored for children. Improv 101 is an introduction to improvising a scene. This class will focus on the fundamentals of agreement, relationship, character, and environment. This class runs Monday-Friday August 6th-10th, 9:00am-12:00pm. There will also be a student showcase on the final day of class. You can register here.

Youth Improv 101 (Ages 11-14): Here students will learn the basics of our Improv 101 class specifically tailored for youth. Improv 101 is an introduction to improvising a scene. This class will focus on the fundamentals of agreement, relationship, character, and environment. This class runs Monday-Friday July 16th-20th, 9:00am-12:00pm. There will also be a student showcase on the final day of class. You can register here.

Adult Improv 101/201 Intensive (Adults only): Here students will learn the basics of our Improv 101 and 201 class. This class will focus on the fundamentals of agreement, relationship, character, and environment as well as scene pattern recognition, creation, and heightening. This class runs Monday-Friday July 9th-13th, 10:00am-4:00pm (with lunch break). There will also be a student showcase on the final day of class. You can register here. [We also offer weeknight adult classes]

The instructor Harrison Brookie is a trained educator who has spent several years teaching public high school. He was also a resident instructor at the DSI Comedy Theater in NC, which has heavily inspired our style and curriculum. He is currently the executive producer and artistic director of AlchemyImprov Comedy in Greenville, SC.
